Calling all Girl Scout families! You're invited to take a break and spend uninterrupted family time during the Me & My Girl Scout Family Camp at Camp Koch on July 8-9. Together, you will explore the property and participate in traditional camp activities. Join us while we "slow down with a hoe down" and enjoy music, dancing, campfires, and games at the end of the day. Plus, decorate a platform tent and dress to impress to win a Camp Koch surprise!

GSSI invites you to be a part of transforming Camp Koch’s Trailblazer campsite into a four-cabin unit by the end of 2023! Reaching our $50,000 goal takes donations of all sizes, and we have two exciting new ways for you to support our beloved camp property!
Be a Philanthropist Patch
For every $10 donated by a Girl Scout to the Trailblazer Capital CAMPaign, she will receive an “I am a Philanthropist” patch, and her name will be on a plaque hanging in the Trailblazer unit at Camp Koch. This is an excellent opportunity for girls to do a good turn for their Girl Scout sisters! (Adults are welcome to participate in this campaign as well.)
How to Donate:
· To give online, follow the Donate link below. In the comment box on the giving form, add “Trailblazer” with the name & troop number of the Girl Scout (if applicable).
· To give by check, mail to Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana, 5000 E. Virginia Street, Suite 2, Evansville, IN 47715. Make checks out to GSSI and include “Trailblazer,” the name & troop number (if applicable) of the Girl Scout or adult in the memo line.

Trailblazer Brick Campaign
Part three of our Trailblazer CAMPaign is to build a new fire pit at the campsite. You can help contribute and leave your legacy by purchasing a brick engraved with your name or a special phrase to build the fire pit area. A 4X8 inch brick with up to 20 letters (text only) is $50, and an 8X8 inch brick with up to 4 lines of 20 letters per line (text only) is $100. *GSSI determines the final approval of the text.
The deadline to order is Thursday, August 31, 2023.

Women ages 21 and older: We invite you to GSSI's GlampOut on August 19-20 at Camp Koch! Join us for two days as we unplug, relax, reconnect, and enjoy. Spend the weekend getting pampered, enjoying fabulous food and drinks, and joining in on Girl Scout traditions. Come solo or bring a group of ladies for a weekend of reliving your camp memories while raising funds to allow girls to experience new adventures, find their passion, and step outside their comfort zone.
For only $50 per person, lodging, meals, happy hour with appetizers and drinks, and activities for the weekend are included. Lodging is on a first-come, first-served basis. Indoor accommodations are available in the staff and troop houses, but space is limited. Outdoor lodging is available in the platform tents, and personal tents are welcome.
The deadline to register is Friday, August 11, 2023, at 12:00 PM CDT.

Summer Outreach Program Facilitators provide the Girl Scout Leadership Experience by facilitating programs at schools and community organizations. This position involves leading a 1.5-hour program with a flexible schedule through the summer months, mainly in the afternoon. This role is perfect for college students or retirees!

Join us for a night of swimming, slides, and fun as Girl Scouts take over Burdette Park Aquatic Center! This event is for all girls entering grades K-12 in the fall and their families. We've rented out the whole space for the evening so that you can enjoy the park with just your friends, family, and Girl Scout sisters. This event is open to non-members, too, so invite friends; the cost is just $5! (Pre-registration and payment are required.)

Bridging Kits Now Available to Purchase from the GSSI Shop

Bridging awards mark a girl's transition from one leadership level to the next. An exciting time in a Girl Scout's life, the earning of the award and completion of the activities are designed to emphasize the continuity of one Girl Scout program and to welcome girls to an anticipated "next level." Our Bridging Kits contain everything you need to celebrate these special events!
Each kit contains a bridging award patch, certificate, membership star, and disc, bridging pencil, and a bridging fun patch. (Junior and Cadette kits include Brownie Wings.)
Brownies, Seniors, and Ambassadors kits are $8.00 each; Juniors and Cadettes are $9.75.

SAFE SITTER CLASSES
Memorial Hospital Jasper & Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville have upcoming Safe Sitter Classes, a medically accurate, hands-on class that teaches students in grades 6-8 basic childcare skills and how to handle emergencies when caring for children, including CPR.
