Important Membership Reminders
|
Members who have not renewed for the 2024-2025 membership year may renew online through their myGS account or over the phone at (812) 421-4970. Co-leaders can confirm which troop members still need to renew by logging into their myGS account. If you are unsure how to log into your myGS account, review our myGS login instructions and troubleshooting recommendations.
To check troop renewals on myGS, follow these steps:
• Click “My Troop”
• Scroll down to “Member details”
• ACTIVE = individual has renewed for 2024-2025
• TIME TO RENEW = individual needs to renew for 2024-2025
Finance Reports
2023-2024 Finance Reports are PAST DUE. If you haven’t submitted your report, please send it to Kim Consley at kconsley@girlscouts-gssi.org.
Troop Update Form
Co-leaders, please submit our 2024-2025 Troop Update Form as soon as possible; only one form is needed per troop. This will help staff provide you with the best troop experience in the upcoming year. Membership Specialists are making summer check-in calls to co-leaders to ensure everything is going well and that co-leaders are aware of this form.

Join GSSI for a Trip to Costa Rica in 2025
|
GSSI is hosting a Destination trip to Costa Rica in the summer of 2025 for all Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts. We will be traveling with ACIS using their “Youth Leadership in Costa Rica” program where travelers will have the opportunity to be immersed in the local culture, experience the different environments of Costa Rica, and learn from local organizations that solve global issues. Girl Scouts can learn more about traveling to Costa Rica by visiting the trip page.

Register for Day Camp at Vincennes University
|
|
The Girl Coalition of Indiana, Inspired by Girl Scouts, is excited to partner with Vincennes University and Alcoa Foundation on a special two-day summer camp experience for all girls entering grades 1-5 in fall 2024. Activities include swimming, science experiments, art projects, outdoor water games, and more! A special overnight option for 4th-5th grade girls includes a visit to the campus REC center, a movie, and a college-life experience staying in a dorm. PLUS: Every camper will receive a Girl Scout membership, good through September 2025. Registration deadline is Friday, July 5.

Girl voting for the 2025 Girl Scout Cookie Program ends Friday, July 19! Be sure to have your girl check out all the possibilities and pick her favorites; votes will help GSSI determine which recognitions to offer next year.

SWAPS Workshop for Volunteers
|
|
SWAPS, or Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere, are small tokens of friendship that Girl Scouts exchange with one another. Each one uniquely reflects a fellow Girl Scout, their troop, or a memory of a special event. Join volunteer and GSSI Board Chair Kelly Birkhead for an afternoon of SWAPS-making on Sunday, August 11, where volunteers will to learn everything they need to know to host a SWAPS-making party with their troop! This is a FREE workshop for volunteers with all materials provided to make SWAPS.

Child Protection Training: Stewards of Children
|
GSSI is partnering with Lampion Center to present Darkness to Light's Stewards of Children to adults in our community. This evidence-informed, award-winning training teaches adults practical actions they can take to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. We are excited to share that the cost of this training has been waived due to grant funding, and participants have the option to participate in person or virtually. All GSSI volunteers are strongly advised to complete this training in accordance with GSSI's Policies, Standards, Volunteer & Child Protection Guidelines.

Funding from Alcoa Foundation for Service Projects
|
Troops, service units, camps, and individuals are eligible to receive up to $75 towards community service projects focused on protecting pollinators. These projects will work to influence the community’s environmental attitudes, values, and behaviors and cultivate a sense of responsibility for nature. To be considered for this opportunity, submit a detailed Community Service Project Request, outlining your project's goals, budget, and timeline.
Project plans and proposed budgets must be submitted and approved by GSSI before starting. Final Community Service Project Reports (online form) and receipts must be submitted before September 1.
