Join the Evansville Thunderbolts for Girl Scout Night!
|
Girl Scouts, volunteers, and their families are invited to cheer on the Evansville Thunderbolts as they take on the Quad City Storm! PLUS! The first 15 Girl Scouts to sign up will be able to take the ice after the game for a puck shoot. (Availability is limited due to a jersey auction after the game.)
When: Saturday, November 18, 7:00 PM CST (Doors open at 6:00 PM)
Where: Ford Center, Evansville
Cost: $10 for all Girl Scouts, volunteers, and families. Seats are located in the goal zone.

To register for the puck shoot: Complete the Sign-Up Form. After the slots are filled, the form will close. If you have questions about this activity, please contact Megan Lane at mlane@girlscouts-gssi.org, and NOT the Thunderbolts.

2024 Troop Tees & Hoodies Now Available for Order
|
|
Show your Girl Scout troop pride with our 2024 tees & hoodies in fun new colors! All designs feature the GSSI Logo on the front and the option to include your troop number on the right sleeve. Orders are placed at the beginning of each month; the next deadline to submit orders is December 1. If you miss the deadline, you will be added to the next month.
We will continue orders each month, as needed. We will also have a small stock of tees in the Girl Scout Shop, but they will not include a troop number. Allow approximately 3-4 weeks for delivery to the council. Download the order form at the link below for all information.

This month, we would like to thank volunteers Emily Block, Alana Slater, and Jennifer Jones for assisting at local recruiting events and to everyone who promoted Girl Scouts at local fall festivals, Trunk or Treat events, and parades.

Cookie Updates for Leaders & Cookie Volunteers
|
Cookie time is fast approaching, and we want to ensure you're off to a great start this year!
Smart Cookies Email Registrations
Troop leaders and cookie volunteers will soon receive an email registration from noreply@abcsmartcookies.com. If you don’t see one by mid-November, please check your spam email. If you still do not see one, please get in touch with cookies@girlsocuts-gssi.org. Only two people can be on the Smart Cookies account. If there are multiple troop leaders, only two will receive the email. Please make sure to register and check your account before December 1.
Service Unit Cookie Training
Each year, we host updated training meetings for cookie volunteers and leaders in each service unit, and we encourage at least one representative from your troop to attend. We have some training dates already set; please mark your calendars! Official invites will be emailed to you this month with times and locations included. If you don’t see your service unit listed yet, be on the lookout for info coming soon.

Cookie Permission Forms
To participate in the cookie program, girls must be registered members and have a Cookie Permission Form submitted by December 1. (A new permission form must be submitted each year.) Adult cookie volunteers must be registered members with a current background check on file.

Apply Now for Mini Innovation Grants from Girl Coalition of Indiana
|
|
Girl Coalition of Indiana (Girl Co.) recognizes that girls and adult volunteers have some of the most creative and relevant ways to meet the needs of girls today. To support and empower trailblazers, Girl Co. will offer Mini Innovation Grants of up to $1,000 for individuals (both adults and youth) to test their ideas in their communities. These grants are designed to provide the resources needed to create enriching experiences that foster learning, creativity, and personal growth for girls.

Adult grants will be focused on how to reach more girls from low-income households and/or high-needs populations in their communities, provide them with meaningful opportunities, and keep them engaged in Girl Scouting.

Girl grants will be designed to lift up the girl voice and empower girls to identify problems in their communities and test solutions to address them. While we will encourage girls to utilize funds to engage non-Girl Scouts, projects will ultimately be driven by needs and solutions identified by girls.

My Girl Scout Kits include all the essentials your girl needs for each grade level for just $60 and includes a free drawstring bag! Each level may choose from a kit with a sash or a vest.

My Girl Scout Uniform Basics order forms allow you to select uniform pieces a la carte.

Girl Scouts Essentials Guide includes official apparel and accessories for girls and adults and all badges and patches for each grade level.

The shop is open for in-person shopping on Mondays from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM CDT. Orders may also be placed online, by email, or by phone for FREE shipping or pick-up! Orders are accepted Monday through Friday.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Girl Scout Holiday Craft Workshop with Solely You
When: Saturday, December 2
Session 1: 10:30–11:15 AM CST
Session 2: 11:30–12:15 PM CST
Where: Solely You, 1304 S. Green River Road, Evansville
Cost: $18/girl +$2 for optional fun patch
Registration Deadline: November 24. Each session is limited to the first 20 girls, so register early! Due to space constraints, only girls can participate in the activity.
What: Girl Scouts are invited to get creative this holiday season with Solely You! Join them in the studio to create either a Santa (11" round) or a reindeer (7.5x7.5") 3D laser-cut wood craft kit. You will leave with your project and can earn a fun patch, too! An adult must accompany individual girls; troops/groups should follow adult-to-girl ratios. Questions?
