Dutchess County Fair Volunteer Opportunity: Need service hours or just looking for something your troop can do before the end of the summer?!? Why not volunteer to work at the 'Safe Kids Place' at this year's Dutchess County Fair! We're looking for fun and outgoing 2nd year (going into 3rd grade) Brownies and older GSHH Girl Scout Troops to provide 4 hours of volunteer service at the 2024 Dutchess County Fair, held in Rhinebeck, New York from Tuesday, August 20th through Sunday, August 25th. Responsibilities include manning booths where wristbands are handed out to parents with young children, and comforting children while their 'lost parents' are being located if needed. Admission to the fair is provided for the volunteer Girl Scouts and up to three registered Girl Scout Adult Volunteers (depending on the number of girls attending, who would be manning the booths with their Girl Scouts). Shifts are from 10 am – 2 pm, 2 pm – 6 pm, and 6 pm - 10 pm each day of the fair. There are still shifts available. Shifts are reserved on a first come first served basis with emphasis on filling the first two time slots each day. Registration for this event is open until all slots have been filled. If your troop is interested in doing this, please send an email to: GSHH.at.the.Fair@gmail.com for a registration form.
