STEAM Center Day Camp
|
|
Join us for a fun week of day camp July 17-21 at Burnham Woods and the STEAM Center. We will have a mixture of science, art, cooking, and outdoor activities. Girls will experience hands-on activities and skill-building opportunities in the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) fields and the outdoors. Registration includes the entire week.

Little Rock Office and Shop Move
|
Our corporate headquarters has moved to 1719 Merrill Drive in Little Rock. Please be aware that our staff will continue to work a hybrid schedule and we highly recommend calling before visiting a physical location (in Little Rock and all our regional offices).
Our new location offers the accessibility, visibility, convenience, and size we hope will serve our girls, volunteers and staff members well. It is 0.2 miles away from our former Arcade Drive location and provides closer access to Rodney Parham. There are parking improvements and a large meeting room free for members to use.

Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors

You don’t need access to a national park or the woods to enjoy the outdoors! So put yourself out there with us and participate in our Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge. Spending at least 120 minutes a week in nature is associated with good health and well-being, whether you spend that time becoming a rockstar at rock climbing or making a splash in the puddles around your neighborhood. Horse Barn News

It’s summer camp season and our equine program is in full swing! We are so happy to have your support and have full sessions. Now that everything is fully active, we’re ready to book fall activities.
We’re continuing our arena lessons but are excited to announce - bring on the TRAIL RIDES! We’re still in the process of expanding our herd, so trail groups will be small in number, but we didn’t want to delay this exciting news any longer. Prices will stay low through the end of 2023 and include lots of group and troop discounts. Individuals, troops and groups (even if you just want to grab a group of grown-up friends) should contact us at barn@girlscoutsdiamonds.org so we can get you an early bird discount!

Troop Finance News
|
Troops who submitted their annual Troop Financial Report through Online VTK Finance Tab by May 31, 2023, along with their supporting paperwork will receive a troop money bag by the end of June. Late submissions or extension requests do not apply.
June 30 is the deadline to turn in troop financials for troops that were approved for a 30-day extension.
Not submitting an annual troop financial report may result in troop leader/treasurer being released as a volunteer, removal from the troop account, and troop finances may be subject to an audit. In July, troops with outstanding troop financials will be marked in our database as at-risk. This will prevent the troop from being imported into the Fall Product system and may temporarily place troop activities on pause.
CheckAlert LLC
As mentioned in the previous month’s communications, CheckAlert LLC closed its business on May 31, 2023. Please take a copy of this bank letter to your bank immediately to notify them to have all returned checks sent to troops/groups/service units instead of CheckAlert. Please review Accepting Check Payments for information to follow when accepting checks for payment.

Council Quarterly Updates

You may have noticed that we skipped the Q2 Council Update, with our Q1 update being held in January. Since we were full throttle on all things cookie-related at that time, we decided to wait and provide you a combined update to include both Q2 and Q3. Since the first week of July is a holiday week, we’ll share it with you on the week of July 10. We have many wonderful things to update you on, so please stay tuned!

Product Program Debt
Outstanding Product Program debt must be paid in full by July 31, 2023. Caregivers must submit payment by this date for their Girl Scouts to participate in the next membership year’s product programs (2023 fall product and 2024 cookies).
