Celebrating Girl Scout Week!
Each year, Girl Scout Week gives us a meaningful moment to look back with pride and look ahead with purpose. We celebrate the generations of girls who have grown in courage, confidence, and character—and we honor the traditions, service, and sisterhood that continue to unite us. It’s also a time to recognize the dedicated volunteers, families, and community partners who help make the Girl Scout experience possible.
All week long, the Girl Scout spirit shines. From hands-on service projects and community celebrations to proudly wearing our uniforms, these moments remind us that we’re part of something bigger than ourselves. However you choose to participate—through an event, a good turn, or simply sharing your Girl Scout pride—we invite you to join us in celebrating all that Girl Scouts represents.
A special part of Girl Scout Week is gathering with our faith communities. Girl Scouts Celebrate Faith festivities offer girls the opportunity to be recognized at their houses of worship while expressing gratitude to the faith partners and volunteers who support them throughout the year.

Celebration dates for 2026:
  • Girl Scout Sunday—Sunday, March 8
  • Girl Scout Jummah—Friday, March 13
  • Girl Scout Sabbath/Shabbat—Friday, March 13–Saturday, March 14
There are many meaningful ways to celebrate—through worship services, special gatherings, or service projects. Explore the available resources to help you plan a meaningful and memorable celebration that reflects the spirit and values of Girl Scouts.

Volunteer Spotlight
Maureen Dickson
Maureen Dickson
Maureen is the volunteer you call when you need a reminder of the impact Girl Scouting makes. An advocate for older Girl Scouts—she led the leadership troop “The Wonder Chicks” and has gone above and beyond as Membership Lead for the Winding Way Service Unit, hosting recruitment events, supporting renewals, and building strong community partnerships. Her efforts helped her team earn the first-ever Yosemite Level Summit Award. Maureen also helped launch one of the council’s first Friendship Troops to ensure every girl had a place to belong and regularly brought Service Units together to learn, celebrate, and be inspired. Described as the team’s “anchor and fountain of knowledge”.

Thank you, Maureen, for all you do!
