“Defining Leadership” Arkansas Premiere
Following our girl and adult awards ceremony, join us for the powerful documentary on the life and legacy of Frances Hesselbein. A true “pioneer for women, volunteerism, diversity, and opportunity,” Hesselbein was one of the most important figures in the leadership movement, where her influence extended from nonprofit management to corporate boards to the U.S. Army. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian honor, for her leadership as CEO of Girl Scouts from 1976 to 1990, and was later appointed to two Presidential Commissions on National and Community Service. “Defining Moments” shares the extraordinary impact of Hesselbein’s work and how her influence has grown over the decades, impacting millions of people, invigorating and inspiring each of us to reach our highest potential. Membership Renewal
|
|
On-time renewal is happening this month! For the month of June, troops with a combined 60% to 90% retention of adults and girls will be included in weekly giveaways. Depending on the week, troops will be eligible to win a Girl Scout shop gift card or a set of bridging kits. Our team will be working on getting our Spring Renewal incentives together and should have them ready for volunteers by the Service Unit Summit in August. If you have any questions about renewing your membership, please reach out.

Summer is here, and we know that means a break from regular meetings for many troops. If you haven’t already, please update your troop’s information. This will help us know the details of your troop and if you are accepting new members! You can update it directly here.

Volunteers and New Leaders Needed
|

We are in need of volunteers and leaders across the region. If you know anyone who may be interested, please send them our way! We have recently edited our online training to make it more concise and easier for new leaders. We want to help any potential leader in this process! Planning a Trip for your Troop
|
Getting your troop ready for a summer adventure? Don’t forget to submit your travel application! Any troop trip that is overnight or more than 120 miles one way requires a Travel Application to be submitted to info@girlscoutsdiamonds.org at least 3 weeks before the trip.
Trips that are not approved or are canceled will require the submission of a Troop Travel Denial/Cancellation Acknowledgement Form, which outlines that troop funds may not be used, and leaders are responsible for informing families of any out-of-pocket costs or reimbursement procedures.
Please note: Using the troop debit card for unapproved travel or overnight trips is a violation of council policy and may result in further action.

Troop and Service Unit Financials Reminders
|
June 30 is the deadline for troops who were approved for a 30-day extension on their financials
Not submitting an annual troop financial report may result in troop leader/treasurer being released as a volunteer, removal from the troop account, and troop finances may be subject to an audit. In July, troops with outstanding troop financials will be marked in our database as ‘at-risk’. This will prevent the troop from being imported into the Fall Product system and may temporarily place troop activities on pause.
June 30 is the deadline for service units to submit their annual service unit financial report. This report covers the period of July 1, 2024, through May 31, 2025. In addition, service unit treasurers are asked to turn in a copy of any remaining, approved troop financial reports and April 2025 bank statements. Please update the list of outstanding troop financials at this time.
Not submitting service unit financial reports may result in the dismissal of the volunteer from the service unit treasurer role, removal from the service unit account, and service unit finances may be subject to an audit.

Smart Cookies will be closed July 31 and will reopen at the start of the 2025-2026 cookie season. Please be sure to download any reports or data you need before this date.
Next year’s theme is Brave. Fierce. Fun. This theme perfectly captures the unstoppable spirit of our Girl Scouts! The mascot for Fall Product is the Grizzly Bear, and the 2026 Cookie Program mascot is the Black-Footed Ferret.

Camp care packages can be purchased and shipped anywhere your Girl Scout is camping this summer! The kits are $40 and include a coloring book, journal, hair chalk, mini board games, and much more. Shipping is $10.
