Corporate Partnerships Spotlight: Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Fall Event 2024
GSSI Girl Scouts & their families enjoying Holiday World
On September 7, 2024, over 1,000 Girl Scouts from Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio gathered at Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana, for a unique day of fun and learning. The event featured specialized programs like water testing, Project Pollenate, STEM in the Park, cookie decorating, and SWAPs, allowing girls to expand their networks and experience the global Girl Scout sisterhood. Special thanks to our headlining sponsor, Alcoa Foundation, event sponsor, Toyota Indiana, and financial assistance sponsor, Waupaca Foundry, whose support made discounted attendance possible for families and troops.

Corporate sponsors like Alcoa, Toyota, and Waupaca provide essential support to Girl Scouts, enabling us to offer programs in STEM, environmental education, leadership, and more. These partnerships help us expand our reach, enhance our programs, and create lasting impacts on girls and their communities.

If you know of a corporate connection that aligns with our values, please reach out to Aimee Stachura, CEO, at astachura@girlscouts-gssi.org.

The 2024 Indiana Girl Report provides an overview of the well-being of girls across Indiana, highlighting regional differences. Created with the data expertise of Indiana Youth Institute and the girl-focused perspective of Girl Scouts, this initiative began in 2023 when six Indiana Girl Scout councils formed the Girl Coalition of Indiana to address one question: How are girls faring in Indiana? The answer, as it turns out, is complex. Check out the report below and share your thoughts.

Letter from the CEO: Honoring Our Founder Juliette Gordon Low and Her Pearls of Wisdom
Juliette Gordon Low
Dear Girl Scout Family,
October 31 marks our beloved founder Juliette Gordon Low's birthday and is also recognized as Girl Scout Founder's Day. Reflecting on her legacy, we are reminded of her unwavering commitment to empowering girls and fostering leadership. One remarkable story encapsulating her spirit is her generous donation of her treasured pearls.

A Symbol of Generosity and Vision
In the early days of Girl Scouts, Juliette faced many challenges in establishing the organization. She made a personal sacrifice to support her vision of empowering young girls by donating her beloved strand of pearls to fund the first Girl Scout troop. This act of generosity provided essential resources and demonstrated her deep belief in every girl’s potential. Juliette’s pearls became a symbol of the values she cherished—leadership, courage, and community. Today, they remind us of her dedication to creating opportunities for girls to learn, grow, and thrive.

Inspiring a New Generation
As we celebrate Juliette Gordon Low’s legacy, we encourage our Girl Scouts to embrace her spirit of giving and leadership. Just as she invested in young girls' futures, we invite our community to consider how they can contribute to girls' growth and development. Your support helps continue her mission, providing girls with the resources they need to embark on their leadership journeys. Whether through camps, leadership programs, or community service initiatives, your contributions empower girls to dream big and make a difference.

Her Legacy Continues Through You
Thank you for being an essential part of our Girl Scouts family as we carry forward Juliette Gordon Low’s legacy, ensuring that every girl has the opportunity to shine.

With heartfelt appreciation,
Aimee Stachura
