Help Keep Arkansas Beautiful!
|
Keep Arkansas Beautiful is asking for Girl Scouts to help reach their goal of hosting a cleanup in every county across the state. They currently need cleanup events in the following counties during October or November: Boone, Calhoun, Clay, Cleveland, Dallas, Drew, Franklin, Grant, Izard, Johnson, Newton, and Scott. A cleanup can be as simple as picking up litter at a local park, pulling weeds in a community garden, or organizing a roadside trash pickup. Keep Arkansas Beautiful provides all tools—trash pickers, bags, and cans—and county dumps accept trash for free with proof of registration. Register your cleanup.

Funding Opportunity for Troops and Service Units
|
The Ozark Society, founded by Dr. Neil Compton of Bentonville, is offering small grants ranging from $500–$2,500 to support youth-led environmental or outdoor projects. Up to five troops or service units may be selected to receive funding through this opportunity. If your troop or service unit is located in Little Rock/Pulaski County, Gilbert/Buffalo River, Fayetteville, or Bentonville, and you have a project idea that aligns with the Ozark Society’s mission, let us know! Girl Scouts – Diamonds will serve as the nonprofit applicant, and funds will be distributed to participating troops through our pass-through process. Please note: these funds cannot be used for individual Gold Award projects but must support a troop or service unit initiative. The proposal deadline is October 31, 2025, with funding distributed in Spring 2026 and projects running Summer 2026–March 2027. If your troop or SU is interested, notify us at Program@girlscoutsdiamonds.org by October 31 — we’ll provide the proposal templates and guidance to help your girls bring their ideas to life!

Planning a Troop Trip This Fall? Don’t Forget to Submit Your Travel Application!
|
Just a reminder: any troop trip that is overnight or more than 120 miles one way requires a Travel Application to be submitted to info@girlscoutsdiamonds.org at least 3 weeks prior to the trip.
Please note: Using the troop funds for unapproved travel or overnight trips is a violation of council policy and may result in further action. Help us ensure safe, fun, and policy-compliant adventures for your girls!

Equine Program Impact Study
|
|
Your voice matters - your experience helps shape the future of our horse program! We’re conducting an Equine Program Impact Study to better understand its reach, effectiveness, and potential.
This study will help us: • Measure how well the program supports members across the council • Identify barriers to access (like cost, distance, or scheduling) • Ensure resources are used strategically and sustainably • Keep the program girl-led, mission-driven, and FUN
How to get involved: • Take the 6-8 minute survey • Invite us! Email barn@girlscoutsdiamonds.org if you’d like an equine staff member at your troop or service unit meeting. We may even bring along a special guest!
We especially encourage girl members to share their voices - the equine program should reflect what they want to learn, explore, and experience.
