Youth Mental Health First Aid
|
This course is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing mental health or addiction challenges or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders. Participants can earn their Youth Mental Health First Aid certification through completion of this training and an online assessment.
We would like to offer this course in January or February. If you have ten or more adults who are interested, we can work with our provider to bring it to you. If you have less than 10, we’d still love to hear from you as we may be able to combine some smaller groups who are near each other. Please have one person per group respond by December 1 to let us know if you are interested.

Did you know your troop/service unit can reach out to local organizations like state parks, fire stations, Arkansas Game and Fish, or even local businesses to create unique programming for Girl Scouts? As long as the activities align with Girl Scout Safety Activity Checkpoints, you have the flexibility to collaborate with a variety of partners to offer exciting, hands-on experiences. Don’t hesitate to explore these options and bring new learning opportunities to your Girl Scouts.

If you haven’t updated your troop information for this year or need to change anything, please let us know. This is also the time to double-check your rosters to make sure those who want to sell cookies have a membership. Links will only be sent to girls that have renewed. Uniform Assistance Vouchers Now Available
|
This voucher is provided to Girl Scouts who need financial assistance purchasing their uniform. We do not want cost to be a barrier when participating in the Girl Scout program. We believe all girls have a place at Girl Scouts, and it's our mission to help make that happen. The $25 vouchers should go toward a Girl Scout uniform and/or the required uniform components. Please share this information with caregivers. Financial assistance for Girl Scout uniforms may only be requested by the parent/guardian of any registered Girl Scout served by Girl Scouts-Diamonds using this link. Uniform financial assistance are available until funds are depleted. The voucher can be used for the following items:
- A sash or vest
- World Association Pin Girl Scout Pin
- Membership, Daisy Pin, or Brownie Pin
- Troop Numbers
- Flag Patch
- Girl Scouts - Diamonds Council ID Set

2024 Fall Product Program
|
|
Girl Scouts should be delivering products to customers and collecting payments. For online girl-delivered orders, caregivers can download a report from M2OS that includes customers’ orders and contact information. During this time, it’s important to remind Girl Scouts and caregivers that it’s best practice to avoid keeping large sums of money; instead, they should turn in funds to the troop regularly. Troops should also make frequent deposits. Troop product managers must count money with the caregiver when it’s submitted and provide a receipt. All final Girl Scout funds should be turned in by December 1. If any balance remains after this date, troops are responsible for completing the Caregiver Outstanding Balance form and submitting it, along with supporting documentation, to the product program staff by the deadline.

The 2025 Cookie Program is on the horizon. Now is the perfect time for troop leaders to review their troop rosters for accuracy. Ensuring all your Girl Scouts are registered and placed in the appropriate troop will help the council make a seamless import into Smart Cookies, the online management system for the Girl Scout Cookie Program.

The cards have no expiration date, are reloadable and can be purchased with any dollar amount you desire! These are different from the Diamonds Dollars cards girls earn through product sales.
