Starting May 13, 2024, all active volunteers will receive a weekly Monday email summarizing important updates, reminders, and helpful resources. Now is your chance to see your Girl Scouts featured during the same broadcast as Caitlyn Clark and her superstar teammates! GSSI has been given the opportunity to run a free 30-second commercial that will be featured during Channel 14's broadcast of the Indiana Fever games. The commercial will feature a slideshow of local Girl Scouts, and we need your submissions to make it happen. We are looking for high-quality images of girls in uniform, participating in activities, or just showing how fantastic Girl Scouts are! A signed release form for each girl pictured must accompany each photo; the form will be emailed to you if your photo is selected for use. To share your photos, upload them to the Google Drive folder linked below or email them to lalvey@girlscouts-gssi.org. The deadline for submissions is Monday, June 1.

Early Renewal is Ending Soon!
|
What a fantastic year it’s been with Girl Scouts! Now is the time to prepare for next year and fill it with unforgettable field trips, energizing community projects, and new passions to share with forever friends. Let’s do it again!
All members who renew by June 3 will receive a special patch, and all girls will receive a fun gift. Plus, troops who renew 80% of their girls and 2+ co-leaders will receive a 25% off coupon for the GSSI shop!

GSSI Office and Shop CLOSED for Memorial Day

The GSSI Office and Shop will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day.

Yearly Finance Reports are Due Soon
|
All Girl Scout member groups (troops, day camps, service units, etc.) must complete a finance report each year. This year, finance reports must be submitted between May 31st and June 14th.
What to Submit: The finance report form & copies of monthly bank statements as outlined below.

Existing accounts: Start from the month you left off after sending last year's financial report through April 2024.

New troops/accounts: Start from the month you opened your account through April 2024.

Note: Please do not include receipts with your report, but remember that GSSI may request receipts from any group/troop at any time if needed, so please save all receipts.

Bridging Ceremony Resources

Bridging is an important transition in a Girl Scout’s life. It’s a defining moment when a Girl Scout becomes aware of her achievements and is ready for new adventures and responsibilities. Torchbearer Award Nominations

The Indiana Commission for Women is seeking nominations for their 2024 Torchbearer Awards. Take this time to think about a Girl Scout volunteer or another Hoosier woman who you can nominate for this great honor! A Torchbearer is the epitome of a trailblazer, someone who emerges as a guiding light through her courage, resilience, and compassion.
Nominations must be submitted no later than Friday, May 24th, 2024, by 11:59PM EDT.

Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Fall Event at Holiday World
|
Join GSSI for our Fall Event as Girl Scout councils from across the states of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio partner up for Girl Scout Family Day at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana.
When: Saturday, September 7, 2024
Cost: Tickets to this event are $60 per person. If you hold a season pass, you may use your season pass for admission but will need to pay $25 for the buffet lunch and Girl Scout program activities to gain access to the event.
Event cost includes:

Access to both the theme park and water park

Buffet lunch consisting of BBQ pork, hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, mac & cheese, potato chips, veggie tray with dip, cookies, and drinks

Girl Scout SWAP session
