Girl Scouts Love State Parks is BACK – September 13-15! Check out the more than 60 activities at state parks in every region for your troop or family. Many events are free, but all require pre-registration by September 9. Details and registration info for all events are in one convenient location.

Join us for a day of inspiration and empowerment at the "Women in the Outdoors" event September 14, set amidst the breathtaking beauty of Pinnacle Mountain State Park. The day will kick off with a Tree Promise Workshop for K-5th grade Girl Scouts. Beginning at noon, enjoy talks from special guest speakers, visit stations featuring women representing diverse outdoor careers, and savor light refreshments. The event will wrap up with an introduction to kayaking workshop for 6-12th grade Girl Scouts. This is a wonderful opportunity for girls to connect with trailblazing women, engage with their families, and celebrate the spirit of adventure during Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend. Cardboard Boat Regatta | October 5-6

Join us at Lake Dardanelle State Park to construct your very own boat out of duct tape and cardboard then race in the lake! This event can be attended as a troop or family. You can stay for the day on Saturday or register for the weekend and enjoy extra fun! New this year, a My Guy and Me race! Register for the weekend or for Saturday only.

Whether you were a Girl Scout for a year, throughout your childhood, or joined as an adult, this weekend is for YOU! Gather your Girl Scout sisters and join us for Alum Weekend at Camp NOARK. Reconnect, reminisce and create new memories. We can't wait to see you there! Register for the weekend or for Saturday only.

Girl Scouts Discover Aviation | October 19

Louise Thaden was an American aviation pioneer and the namesake of Bentonville's Regional Airport. From the ground to the skies, the possibilities are endless for women in aviation. Join the staff at Thaden Field to earn an (unofficial) aviation badge. Learn lingo from flight instructors, controls from pilots, see the engine with mechanics, learn how to keep everyone safe with our line technicians, and leave with a new love and appreciation for flight. Promote the Vote National Service Project
|
|
While most Girl Scouts aren’t old enough to cast a ballot, they can still learn about and get involved in the process. GSUSA recently launched the latest national service project, Promote the Vote, designed to encourage Girl Scouts to learn about the voting process, the importance of voting, and encourage others to carry the torch until they are ready to take it up themselves. Troops and/or families can work with Girl Scouts to explore these topics. Promote the Vote is a nonpolitical and nonpartisan initiative designed to increase civic participation. Resources include instructions for troop leaders, instructions for Girl Scouts and templates to use for outreach. To complement this project, Girl Scouts can work on Democracy badges at all levels.
