Daisy/Brownie Virtual Chats for Volunteers

Daisy and Brownie Leaders: Would you like the opportunity to chat with other volunteers in our council? We’re launching Daisy/Brownie Chats to share ideas and ask questions of others sharing the same experiences as you! A Girl Scout staff member will be online, but this is a chance for peer-to-peer support. The chats will be through Zoom the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm.

Mark Your Calendar: Reach for the Peaks 2024
|
|
Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians invites all Girl Scouts and friends to join our fourth annual Reach for the Peaks! RFTP is an event where participants can hike on their terms AND support their local Girl Scouts. Participants can hike the highest peaks or just around their neighborhood, accomplish 3.12 (our birthday!) miles, or set their own distance goal. Hikers can hike individually or go as a group.
Our 2024 Reach for the Peaks will take place over two weeks, March 2-17. We'll share more details as the time approaches, so keep an eye on your inbox and on our social media channels.

Joyce Maienschein Leadership Grant
|
|
Cadettes, Seniors, or Ambassadors who are working on a community service, take action project, or High Award can apply for a Joyce Maienschein Leadership Grant to help make their dream a reality. Not only can the girls receive funding for up to $500, but they gain life skills like writing, budgeting, organization, and teamwork. It's a win-win!

Members of Service Unit 407 held its annual “Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Packing Party” where 42 boxes were packed full of fun gifts, toys, school supplies, and personal care items to send to children living in extreme poverty around the world. The girls who participated loved doing an act of service!
