Dear GSHCC Volunteers,
The end of the school year is always an exciting time, but as I think back on my days as a Girl Scout, I’m reminded that summer vacation also meant not seeing my sister troop members as often as I did throughout the school year.
It’s easy for girls to spend the long summer days looking at screens. But as you know, there is so much to explore beyond any television show or app! This summer, I encourage you to coordinate a few activities for your girls to keep them engaged and connected to one another.
Spending time in the outdoors whether it be hiking, camping, or exploring nature is a great way to make memories that last a lifetime. Whether you plan an overnight camping trip with your troop or explore a new partner program you may have never considered before, every intentional effort can make a huge difference in your girls’ physical and mental well-being. At GSHCC, we are here to support you all year long which is why I want to encourage you to join us for this year’s Big Volunteer Conference on Sunday, August 18. I always look forward to this day as we connect, share knowledge, build community, and celebrate the many ways we show up for Girl Scouts. I hope you can join us this year.
As always, I thank you for your continued dedication and support to Girl Scouts. You are responsible for making a lasting impact on the lives of our future leaders, and that is something to celebrate.
