GSSI Office and Shop CLOSED for Labor Day
|
|
The GSSI Office and Shop will be closed on Monday, September 2, for Labor Day. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 3.

NEW Girl Scout Participation Forms
|
For the 2024-2025 membership year, GSSI has combined the Annual Permission and Cookie Permission Forms into one online document that families can submit directly. We've also introduced two new documents: the Annual Adult Participation Agreement, submitted to GSSI, and the Annual Troop Health Form, which troops must keep on hand in case of emergencies. The Troop Health Form is now the only required form for troops unless a specific activity needs a special permission form as outlined in the new Annual Permission Form.

GSSI will notify troops/groups when Annual Permission Forms and Annual Adult Participation Agreements are submitted. Girl and adult members are not permitted to attend Girl Scout activities for the 2024-2025 membership year until their permission form/participation agreement has been submitted to GSSI.
New members must submit these forms before their first Girl Scout activity, and returning members must submit them by October 1, 2024.

Service units (SUs) consist of Girl Scout members who live in the same city or county. SUs provide opportunities for volunteers to connect, share experiences, and build camaraderie through their shared commitment to the Girl Scout mission. Regardless of volunteer role, all volunteers are invited to attend SU meetings in their area. Learn more at About Girl Scout Service Units.
GSSI staff will distribute money aprons for all returning co-leaders and SU team members and spring renewal rewards during the fall SU meetings! Spring renewal items will include a list of individuals receiving rewards. Troop coupons expire on September 30, 2024.

Child Protection Guidelines and Training
|
GSSI's Child Protection Guidelines ensure the safety of youth in GSSI programs by equipping staff and volunteers to recognize, prevent, and respond to child abuse. All staff and volunteers must read pages 24-30 of GSSI's Policies, Standards, Volunteer & Child Protection Guidelines.
Staff and volunteers providing direct youth services must complete the online training (pages 25-26) and submit THIS FORM by Thursday, October 31.
Volunteers who completed the training and submitted the form in 2024 do not need to resubmit. Those with recent, accredited child abuse prevention training can upload their certificate to THIS FORM to fulfill requirements.

Last Chance to Register for Troop Camp Training!
|
|
Troop Camp Training certifies volunteers for tent camping overnights at campgrounds and other locations. This hands-on overnight experience covers advanced fire building, outdoor cooking, tent care, leave no trace, and more. PREREQUISITES: Fire Building and Basic Outdoor Cooking, completed at least six months prior
When: Saturday, September 14, 9:00 AM to Sunday, September 15, 12:00 PM CDT *You must attend the entire training to be certified
Where: Camp Koch - Cannelton, Indiana
Cost: $20.00 per person to cover food and training expenses. A $2.50 credit card processing fee will be added to each submission.
Limited space available. Registration ends THIS FRIDAY, August 30, 2024, at 12:00 PM CDT.
