In recent years, conversations around mental health have gained much-needed attention and momentum. Our girls, just like all individuals, deserve to grow up in an environment that not only supports their physical health but also prioritizes their emotional and mental wellness. According to recent reports out of Stanford Center for Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing, there is a growing mental health crisis among children and adolescents.
As an organization dedicated to building courage, confidence, and character, it is incumbent upon us to actively promote and advocate for mental health awareness. The research shows that our girls encounter a multitude of challenges and pressures as they navigate their formative years. Whether it's academic stress, social dynamics, or personal struggles, these experiences can have a profound impact on their mental well-being.
By fostering open conversations, providing access to resources, and creating a culture of empathy and understanding, we can equip our girls with the tools they need to navigate life's ups and downs resiliently. Mental health education and support are not just commendable initiatives; they are essential components of our mission to help girls thrive and become leaders of tomorrow.
I encourage each of you to engage in discussions about mental health within your troops, families, and communities. Let us work together to break down stigmas, offer support without judgment, and prioritize emotional wellness.
