Pricing Update for Troop Camping
|
|
Effective for camp reservations with check-ins starting August 1 or later, our camp prices are changing for all new bookings. Existing reservations will be at the old rates. The new prices & amenities can be found on our website.
In the spirit of allowing as many girls to camp as possible and to minimize the overbooking that sometimes occurs, we are implementing a refund policy for cancellations or changes reducing the number of reservations.
If a reservation is cancelled/changed to fewer units by the volunteer, troop, or service unit, the following refund policy is in place for check-ins starting August 1:
|
-
91 calendar days or prior to check-in day: 100% refund of original booking (or 100% of portion that was cancelled)
-
90-31 calendar days prior to check-in day: 50% refund of original booking (or 50% of portion that was cancelled)
-
30 calendar days or less: No refund; any remaining unpaid amount will need to be paid
|
Reservations and changes to reservations may be made by sending an email to info@girlscoutcsa.org. Questions may be sent to Janet Wheeler at jwheeler@girlscoutcsa.org.

Tennessee Department of Transportation has partnered with GSCSA to offer a new patch program – Nobody Trashes Tennessee. To earn this patch, troops participate in a community cleanup initiated by the troop or as part of an organized cleanup near them. Troops may also earn a patch by completing educational resources available on the GSCSA Nobody Trashes Tennessee landing page.
Patches are FREE and available in our council shops. All Girl Scout levels can earn this patch.

NEW in 2024: The Great Cookie Competition
|
|
The Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians is excited to launch a new campaign called The Great Cookie Competition. Individuals (adults selected by the council) representing each Girl Scout Cookie, known as Cookie Competitors, will be earning votes by raising dollars. The Cookie Competitor to earn the most votes (i.e. raise the most money for our council), will be crowned their region’s Favorite Cookie.
The goal of this campaign is to not only raise funds for our council, but also to create more buzz around Girl Scouts, championing the Girl Scout Cookie Season amongst the general public!
The Great Cookie Competition will run from Feb. 12 to Mar. 15. Keep an eye on our social media for more information on how to cast your votes!

Welcome to our council's Girl Scout Museum at Daisy's Place!
Yes, we have one of the few Girl Scout museums in the country, hosted in the Girl Scout Leadership Center of East Tennessee and open for your browsing convenience when the Leadership Center is open. Docent led tours are available; you can find the request form on our website.
The museum was named for Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low, founder of US Girl Scouting. The exhibits rotate but currently include the history and evolution of Girl Scouts locally, Girl Scout camping, and international Girl Scouting and Guiding. There is also a hands-on section where visitors can try on vintage GS hats and sashes and try out the semaphore flags.
We also host events and badge workshops throughout the year. Coming Up: Mar. 2 - Junior First Aid Badge Workshop
Include a visit to our museum when you're in Knoxville on Spring Break or any other time that the Leadership Center is open. Looking forward to having you visit!
