Hello Service Unit Cookie Managers,
We are officially in booth season and we only have twenty days left in the 2024 Girl Scout Cookie Program. Remember to meet all end of program deadlines so your service unit can wrap up the sale successfully. We appreciate all the encouragement you provide for troops and Girl Scouts in your service unit.

Booths and Alternatives to Booths
|
Please review any special booth instructions in Smart Cookies. This can be done by going to Troop Reservations, clicking the three dots next to a booth, and selecting Booth Details. Cookie managers are also responsible for ensuring participating girls and families are familiar with all booth guidelines. Troop Secured booths must be approved in Smart Cookies before a troop hosts the booth sale. All booth sales should be recorded using the Smart Booth Divider, including all credit card sales. Inventory will not be moved from the troop’s on hand inventory and credited to participants unless they are transferred as booth packages as in years prior. This will ensure girls receive credit for their sales but does not assign financial responsibility to them as payment was collected at the booth sale. Girl Scouts are still able to host Lemonade Stands on personal property without prior approval but they must follow all booth guidelines. Remind troops that booths and in-person selling are limited to council boundaries.
Girls can accept contactless credit card payments through the Digital Cookie app using a mobile device when selling at booths, but the troop site must be set up by the troop cookie manager first. These payments are credited directly to the troop. Since girls are selling troop inventory at booths, they will select their troop from the drop-down menu when signing in to Digital Cookie. For further assistance about mobile payments, please refer to page 7 of the Mobile App tip sheet.
Tip: Have a process in place in case a customer does not want to give their email address. Most troops choose to use a troop email address in these cases. Booth Sale Guidelines Booth Sale Worksheet Smart Booth Divider

Cookie Cupboards
|
We are down to the final weeks of our sales. Certain Cupboards may close before the sale ends, depending on Planned Orders. Troops should contact Cupboard managers before visiting a Cupboard for Unplanned Orders to verify available inventory, as quantities and varieties may be limited.
The GSHCC Modesto and Sacramento Cupboards are currently only accepting Planned Orders until Saturday, March 2. Beginning this date, we will be accepting Unplanned Orders during open Cupboard hours.
GSHCC Modesto Cupboard: Tues-Fri 1:30-5:30 pm, Sat 9 am-11 am GSHCC Sacramento Cupboard: Tues-Fri 2-6 pm, Sat 9 am-11 am

Girl Delivery
|
Girl Scouts should communicate delivery timelines to customers and mark orders as delivered once received or dropped off to avoid confusion. Customers receive an email once their order is marked delivered. Any inventory girls need to fulfill these orders should be transferred using a Troop to Girl transfer. Remember that girls can continue to edit orders at time of delivery and can refund orders as well. The last day to accept payments online is March 17 so customers wishing to pay for their orders with a card must do so by this day. Rewards
|
Check out our website for information on the Reward Card and Cookie Experiences. Camp registration is open and spots are filling up quickly. It is not required to register for camp before the reward is earned. However, girls who wish to secure a spot in a specific camp session may register before the reward is received but families will have to pay the $25 deposit on their own. Main and Troop Recognition Orders must be submitted, regardless of proceed plan, by March 20. Service units have until March 24 to make any modifications. Once orders are submitted, no changes can be made by GSHCC. Main Recognition Order Reward Card Troop Recognition Order

Cookie Share
|
Cookie Share is a great way for girls, troops and customers to give back. GSHCC partners with Blue Star Moms, local food banks, blood drives and other local organizations for Cookie Share donations. Blue Star Moms sends donations provided by GSHCC to active duty military. If girls receive Cookie Share donations via Girl Delivery orders, these must be entered under Virtual Cookie Share or in the Smart Booth Divider if a donation is received at a booth sale. Financials
|
Troops who have returned ACH payments will be contacted by GSHCC and will be responsible for any non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees. Troops wanting to receive a one-week extension for ACH withdrawals must contact GSHCC at least three days before the ACH withdrawal. If families owe money at the end of the program, a Cookie Collection Report must be filled out no later than March 25. GSHCC will issue a credit in Smart Cookies for the amount submitted which ensures your troop has access to their proceeds. Once collection reports are submitted, troops must not accept payments from those families, as GSHCC will work with them directly. Cookie Collection Report SU Cookie Manager Guide: Pages 28-30
