Are you interested in shaping the Cookie and Fall Product Programs? Have ideas that could benefit our 46 counties? GSCSA is now taking applications for GSCSA’s Product Advisory Committee, better known as PAC. The committee will consist of Volunteers from each area who will assist the Product Team by sharing best practices, providing feedback, and making suggestions for the upcoming Cookie and Fall Product Programs. PAC meetings will be held once a month via Zoom. Apply now and you may be the next voice of GSCSA’s volunteers!

We will be offering our annual Fall Product Program training for Service Unit volunteers next month. These trainings are ONLY for Service Unit volunteers; at least one SU volunteer from each Service Unit is encouraged to attend a training.
Once the SU volunteer training concludes, it is then up to each Service Unit Manager to organize and communicate with their troop volunteers when training will be held for all volunteers at the troop level within their Service Unit.
SU Fall Product Trainings will begin at 6:30pm and end at 7:30pm. Registration is required.

NEW Council Website Coming This Month
|
|
Since February of this year, GSCSA has been working diligently on updating our website to match the new national Girl Scout template. We are scheduled to go live the last week of August, and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on!
If you want an idea of what’s coming, have a look at the websites of other councils who have already gone live with their updated sites:

|
|
Cadettes and up are invited to compete in the 36th annual Hiwassee River Raft Race—the longest running Girl Scout event in our council! Participants build river-worthy rafts and compete against other teams on a two-hour float; four awards are given each year. Adults are welcome to register and build their own rafts, too.
Trainings (required for first-time participants):

|
Hiwassee River Raft Race – Sept. 9 IMPORTANT: All members of a team are required to register to participate. Spectators are not required to register. Please register only if you are going to build a raft and participate in the race.

Summer Stack Club 2023
|
|
Another Summer Stack Club is in the books (pun intended!) and this year was really something special! Some quick stats:
|
-
4,397 Girl Scouts participated
-
Daisies and Brownies were the largest groups
-
Girls from ALL 50 STATES (and Puerto Rico!) participated
-
We had Girl Scouts Overseas participants from Portugal, Taiwan, South Korea, Italy, and Japan
|
We are still blown away by how much love our summer reading program got this year. And we can't wait to see how SSC 2024 goes!
The patches and rockers have been ordered, and we are working on all the other details of such a big mailing. We hope to start mailing things out in late August.

Joyce Maienschein Leadership Grant
|
Cadettes, Seniors, or Ambassadors who are working on a community service, take action project, or High Award can apply for a Joyce Maienschein Leadership Grant to help make their dream a reality. Not only can the girls receive funding for up to $500, but they gain life skills like writing, budgeting, organization, and teamwork. It's a win-win!

These Girl Scouts worked really hard at Pigeon Forge's 4th of July Festival. They had Girl Scout items and pictures set up to talk about what Girl Scouting is like and what they do. They were also busy selling light-up items for a fundraiser. This fundraiser is dedicated for helping the girls with funds for travel.
Share your stories and photos with us at socialmedia@girlscoutcsa.org. Please include a brief description (including date/location) of the event and/or project depicted, as well as the troop number(s).
