April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month and at Girl Scouts Heart of Central California, we have the best volunteers! Whether they are leading a troop, serving as a service unit leader, helping out with an event or program, or serving as a camp counselor, our volunteers bring Girl Scouting to life. They help Girl Scouts become stronger, kinder, and braver than they ever thought possible.
We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers for the countless hours they pour into the Movement encouraging girls to dream big, to explore and to become the leaders they want to be. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you volunteers!

A Night at the Races
|
|
The Volunteer Extravaganza hosted in Ceres was a night to remember. Volunteers arrived in festive derby attire and enjoyed delicious food, interactive horse races, games, and prizes. While the laughs and memories will surely live on, volunteers left with a personalized jockey silk keychain and a gift bag of homemade candied pecans to commemorate the experience.

Since earning her Girl Scout Gold Award and GSUSA’s National Young Women of Distinction award in 2017, Leyna has continued to find success in her endeavors. Having earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and Environmental Studies from Northeastern University, she is currently in her second year at Brooklyn Law School. Says Leyna, reflecting on the leadership skills she gained, “GSHCC provided me with such a great experience and I would love to give back in any way I can.”
