Financial Report Workshop
June 8 | 5:30-8:00pm | Knoxville Leadership Center
This will be a drop-in event for anyone who needs assistance with their financial report. We ask volunteers to come prepared with bank statements, receipts, and a laptop computer if possible. If anyone does not have a laptop, we will have ours available for use if needed. If you have questions, please send them to your Relationship Manager.
Annual Financial Reports DUE by June 15
Annual Financial Reports are required to be submitted by June 15 to Council for the current year. The purpose of these reports is to provide our auditors the information required for our annual audit as well as for our annual tax return reporting to the IRS. Beginning in June, this information should be submitted through the Finance Tab in the Volunteer Toolkit.

Service Units are also required to submit an Annual Financial Report to info@girlscoutcsa.org.

What we need from each troop:
  • The Financial Worksheet, a tool to help you submit to the VTK. This is the preferred worksheet. However, you may use another format that provides the same information if necessary.
  • Six months of bank statements (December 2025 through May 2026).
  • The VTK Summary Report. The VTK shuts down July 1 for a few days. You will not be able to submit your Annual Financial Report through VTK after that date.

ICYMI: Camp Tanasi - Early Closure for Fall 2026
Tanasi’s Water Tank will be undergoing scheduled maintenance in the fall. Our tentative schedule is for the vendor to start work around Oct. 12. The work should take approximately 2 weeks and then the water will be tested over the next 4 weeks, as required by the state. Tanasi will be closed for the fall season around October 12 and remain closed for the next 6 weeks. Our final schedule is dependent on the vendor’s availability, the weather, and the work itself. Fall 2026 reservations for Tanasi, Wildwood, and Adahi opened on the first Monday in May.

NEW TRIP for Summer 2027!
Join us for the Ultimate Independence Day Tour to Boston, Massachusetts in July 2027! We'll watch the epic fireworks display with the Boston Pops, visit the USS Constitution and Fort Independence, hopefully catch a Red Sox game (schedule depending,) take a ghostly witch tour through nearby Salem, get in some beach time, and embark on other adventures. This trip is open to those who will be rising 9th graders and up by summer 2027. Join us for our interest meeting on July 14. (Please note: This is a different [and cheaper!] trip from the previously scheduled “Bright Lights, Big City” trip to Boston and New York.)

Get ready to read this summer...and earn a fun patch!
ICYMI: For Summer Stack Club 2026, we are partnering with Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation (GELF). Through this partnership, we are able to offer A FREE BOOK (one per girl, up to 350 max) to select GSCSA troops who register ALL their girl members for this year’s Summer Stack Club. Registration is NOW OPEN!

In order to qualify for free books, troops MUST BE Tennessee-based. Since GELF is a program of the State of Tennessee, we can only offer this to in-state girls.

There's still a participation fee ($5 per girl, helps cover the cost of patch/mailing), but if you register early enough you might also get a free book!

Books will be given out based on a girl’s Girl Scouting level:
  • Daisies & Brownies: Picture Book
Summer Is Here by RenΓ©e Watson, illustrated by Bea Jackson
  • Juniors: Chapter Book
Maybe Maybe Marisol Rainey by Erin Entrada Kelly
  • Cadettes: Middle Grade Novel
The Witching Wind by Natalie Lloyd
  • Seniors & Ambassadors: Young Adult Novel
Where You See Yourself by Claire Forrest
We are pleased to partner with Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation on this project! The mission of Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation is to strengthen early literacy in Tennessee by providing children access to resources, guidance, and support they need to become lifelong learners.

Note: All the books for a troop will be mailed to one (1) volunteer in that troop; that person will then be responsible for distributing them to each girl.

Girl Scout High Awards πŸ’›πŸ©ΆπŸ€Ž
Update for Bronze and Silver Awards: Projects which focus on building blessing boxes, library boxes, or similar infrastructure will no longer be considered for approval. These types of infrastructure projects can be a part of a larger project, but by themselves do not meet the Highest Awards criteria for uniqueness or, ultimately, sustainability.
Looking for a Silver Award Training or Bronze Award Training? Reach out to set one up! Email us at Info@GirlScoutCSA.org.

Volunteer Resource: Supporting Families Affected by Opioid Misuse
As a Girl Scout volunteer, you play a vital role in offering support to girls who may be facing the challenges of opioid misuse in their families or communities. The DEA Parent Toolkit equips you with valuable resources to help recognize the signs of opioid misuse and understand how to best support those affected. Whether it's understanding behavioral changes, providing a listening ear, or knowing where to refer families for additional help, this toolkit is an essential resource for creating a safe and supportive environment for girls. By staying informed, you can be a trusted ally in guiding families toward the right resources and ensuring the well-being of youth in your care.
