Dear Girl Scout Community,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Violette Walker, a dedicated and long-time Girl Scout, who tragically passed away as a result of a skiing accident that occurred in December. Violette was just 18 years old and an extraordinary young woman whose impact on her community, our council, and the Girl Scout movement will not be forgotten.
Violette was an active member of Girl Scouts Heart of Central California (GSHCC) and proudly served as a National Council Session (NCS) Delegate for GSHCC from 2022–2025. She represented our council at the National Council Session in Orlando and again during the special session in fall 2024. Her leadership, commitment, and passion embodied the very best of Girl Scouting.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Violette’s life and legacy. In honor of her years of Girl Scouting, Girl Scouts attending are invited to wear their Girl Scout uniform.

As we hold Violette and her loved ones in our hearts, we remain grateful for the light she brought to our Girl Scout community. We extend our deepest condolences to Violette’s family, friends, troop members, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May we honor her memory by continuing to lead with courage, compassion, and service—just as she did.
