At GSHCC, girls discover their strengths, build confidence, and learn that they can create meaningful change in their communities. One inspiring example is Jamie, a Girl Scout Ambassador from Troop 2388.
For her Girl Scout Gold Award project, Jamie turned heartbreak into hope. After the loss of a beloved campground to wildfire, she rallied volunteers and planted 25 trees in a local park—an experience that helped shape her into a powerful advocate for her community. As Jamie shares, “I can see a bright future for girls like me, because of Girl Scouts and the amazing leaders and volunteers who pour themselves out for the betterment of girls like me.”

Two of Us Weekend | January 9-11

Get ready for a fun-filled weekend outdoors! Girl Scouts and their special someone can explore nature, play games, try target sports, and enjoy magical moments around the campfire. Juniors and Cadettes can add a free adventure track, while Seniors and Ambassadors can join their adults for a hybrid First Aid/CPR training. No matter how you spend it, this unforgettable weekend is all about adventure, connection, and fun together!

Explore Out: Geocaching Workshop | January 18

Ever dreamed of becoming a real-life treasure hunter? Now’s your chance! Join us for a hands-on Geocaching experience where you’ll learn to use GPS technology to uncover hidden treasures. You’ll create your own cache for others to find, sharpen your navigation and problem-solving skills, and team up with fellow Girl Scouts for an unforgettable outdoor adventure. It’s the perfect blend of exploration, teamwork, and fun!

Move Out: Day Hike | January 31
|
Join us for a guided hike where you’ll explore the beauty of local foliage, learn essential hiking skills like Leave No Trace and what to do if you get lost, and build confidence alongside your Girl Scout friends. This fun, nature-filled adventure is the perfect way to grow your outdoor skills while enjoying time on the trail. Snacks are provided—just bring a water bottle and plenty of energy for the journey!

Calling All Creators: Design the Menzies 80th Anniversary Logo!

We’re inviting our members to design a commemorative emblem to celebrate Camp Menzies’ 80th anniversary! Show off your creativity and love for camp by submitting your original design between now and January 23. All entries will be reviewed, and three designs will be refined and put up for community voting in February. Whether you’re a camper, alum, volunteer, or lifelong fan, this is your chance to showcase your creativity and leave a lasting mark on Camp Menzies’ legacy!

Become a GSHCC Girl Board Member!
|
Ready to elevate your leadership? High school-aged Girl Scouts can apply for a two-year term as a Girl Board Member, gaining real-world experience in governance, planning, and decision-making. You’ll represent Girl Scouts at the highest level of our council and take part in key meetings and trainings that shape GSHCC’s future.

Brenda Cameron
|
Brenda is the heart of Service Unit 119, creating meaningful experiences that impact hundreds of girls and families each year. She plans and coordinates our fall Camporee, creating themes and organizing activities for 150–200 girls annually.
As Service Unit Cookie Manager, she runs cookie rallies, coordinates mini-drops, manages a Cookie Cupboard, and trains Troop Cookie Managers. Brenda also champions community service—most recently helping girls create 1,000 cards for seniors served by Meals on Wheels.
Brenda’s commitment, thoughtful planning, and passion for Girl Scouts build leadership skills and lasting memories for girls across the Service Unit. Thank you, Brenda!

The 2026 Cookie Program is right around the corner! Are you ready?
|
As we prepare for the 2026 Cookie Program, here are the key updates you need to know. Troop Cookie Manager training is now available in gsLearn. Once you complete the course, be sure to send your certificate to your Service Unit Cookie Manager so you can receive the supplies your troop needs to participate.
Next, Digital Cookie access is on the way! Volunteer and caregiver emails will begin going out on January 5, 2026. To ensure you don’t miss your registration email, add email@email.girlscouts.org to your safe sender list.
