Welcome to GSSI's Weekly Volunteer Update
The Cookie Program Begins Wednesday, December 4!
Important info for Troop Leaders & Cookie Volunteers:
-
To participate in the Cookie Program, all troop cookie volunteers must set up accounts in both Smart Cookies and Digital Cookie. If you haven't received your registration links, please reach out to Gretchen at cookies@girlscouts-gssi.org.
-
Girls need a completed Annual Permission Form on file to participate in the Cookie Program. Be sure to review your Smart Cookies roster and notify Gretchen if any girls need to be added. (Please see the following section of this email for more information on permission forms.)
-
Girls are being added to Smart Cookies as Annual Permission Forms are submitted. Families should keep an eye out for their Digital Cookies registration email.
-
Council Cookie Booth Lotteries are scheduled for this weekend! Details and times will be shared through Smart Cookies communication emails. (Reference page 14 of Cookies 101 for more information on lotteries.)

Permission Forms
Girls cannot be uploaded to Smart Cookies until GSSI has received their Annual Permission Form. If you need to verify which girls in your troop have submitted their forms, please reach out to the Membership Specialist for your area:
When providing instructions for completing the Annual Permission Form, please ask families to copy and paste the link below to access the online form. If a sign-in page appears, it means we are experiencing a high volume of submissions, and they may need to try again in about an hour.

Important Financial Update for Troops
Please note that any checks issued by the council will expire 90 days from the date written on the check. Additionally, all troop accounts with German American will now receive direct deposits from the council instead of paper checks.
If your troop account is currently with a different financial institution and you wish to transfer to German American, please reach out to Membership Administrator Brittany Pringle at bpringle@girlscouts-gssi.org for assistance.

Registration Now Open for 2025 Camp Staff and Volunteers!
Apply now to assist with resident camp at GSSI's Camp Koch in Cannelton, IN! As a staff member or volunteer, you'll have the chance to positively impact the lives of Girl Scouts, helping them navigate personal growth, challenges, and new experiences. You'll also build lasting relationships with campers and fellow staff, creating a supportive community that extends beyond the camp season.
GSSI will host seven camp sessions at Camp Koch from June 14–29, 2025. Staff and volunteers can select the sessions that best fit their schedules on the registration form.

GSSI wants to know about the positive change that local Girl Scouts are creating so that we can spread their stories and their impact further. Send your stories and photos to Hannah Minasian at hminasian@girlscouts-gssi.org. Be sure to include your troop number and details of the activities pictured.
