GSCSA Media Girls: We're still "scouting" for superstars!
Media Girls is a new program where Girl Scouts can participate in social media, news, radio, and promotional opportunities, developing lifelong skills like public speaking, writing, presenting, and editing skills.

What Media Girls Do:
Media Girls will have the opportunity to promote new and exciting things that may be featured on our social media platforms or website through video and photo. Such content can include troop meeting activities, cookie and fall product seasons, patch programs, recruitment efforts, and so much more! Some girls may also get to appear on local news stations or discuss the organization on local radio stations. The team will work collaboratively with individual interests and strengths, to generate organic content that represents our communities and the girls within them.

Visit our website today for more info and how to apply!

Patch Pick: MLK Day of Service
The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a preacher, speaker, civil rights activist, and passionate social justice advocate. In memory of his work in advancing equity and justice, and our own Girl Scout legacy of service, take Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (or all of January) to serve others and earn a fun patch.

Museum Mention
Where can you go when you're a Girl Scout? The answer is just about anywhere—we have sisters in Guiding and Girl Scouting all over the world! We even have special places where we can meet. Do you know about the world centers? There are five of them that act as a home-away-from-home for Girl Scouts/Girl Guides and their families:
  • You can explore snowshoeing, skiing, and wood carving at Our Chalet in Switzerland.
  • You can visit Mayan ruins, see a volcano, and make colorful Mexican crafts at Our CabaΓ±a in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
  • You can meet local troops and foreign groups visiting London, England at Pax Lodge.
  • You can learn to wrap a sari, practice the healing power of laughter, and play games with local children at Sangam in India.
  • And you can explore the colorful arts and crafts and foods of West Africa at Kusafiri in Ghana.
All of these with Girl Guide and Girl Scout sisters and mentors! The Girl Scout Museum has a lot of information on these programs, so come visit us and plan your next trip.

Be Seen in Your Community
They say it takes a village. When a family in troop 40562 found themselves needing a ramp built urgently, the parents and girls of troops 40562 and 40311 stepped up to build a ramp in one day. Girl Scouts is not only about bringing girls together but families as well. Excellent job Girl Scouts! πŸ’š

Please share your stories and photos with us at
socialmedia@girlscoutcsa.org! Please include a brief description (including date/location) of the event and/or project depicted, as well as the troop number(s).

Vol Resource: Supporting Families Affected by Opioid Misuse
volunteer talking to girls
As a Girl Scout volunteer, you play a vital role in offering support to girls who may be facing the challenges of opioid misuse in their families or communities. The DEA Parent Toolkit equips you with valuable resources to help recognize the signs of opioid misuse and understand how to best support those affected. Whether it's understanding behavioral changes, providing a listening ear, or knowing where to refer families for additional help, this toolkit is an essential resource for creating a safe and supportive environment for girls. By staying informed, you can be a trusted ally in guiding families toward the right resources and ensuring the well-being of youth in your care.
