Keep the Adventures Going! Renew on April 1 to Unlock Exclusive Incentives!
|
Girl Scouts thrive with you by their side. Whether they’re hiking a trail or launching a rocket, they’re building confidence—because of your support. As a thank-you for your dedication, you and your troop can unlock special rewards by renewing early for the 2025-2026 membership year, including:
|
-
A $20 rebate for all members who renew on Tuesday, April 1! Rebates will be issued directly to the troop to help fund even more exciting troop adventures.
-
GSSI's Spring Renewal fun patch, plus the chance to win 1 of 4 drawings!
-
Troop drawing: One troop will win reimbursement of renewed memberships for all girls and two volunteers, and one troop will win a party package with pizza and drinks!
-
Girl Drawing: Two girls will receive an Oculus Quest 2 Virtual Reality Headset!
-
Volunteer Drawing: One volunteer will receive a $250 Visa Gift Card!
|
Starting April 1, 2025, troops and individuals can renew online at girlscouts-gssi.org/renew or by calling (812) 421-4970.
$20 Rebate Offer: To guarantee your rebate, submit the commitment form (linked below) to Alyssa at amiller@girlscouts-gssi.org by March 31. GSSI will contact the troop leader to collect payment for all members on the commitment form and complete your renewal. We recommend using your troop debit card or a check (not a personal account), as rebates will be issued directly to the troop. The troop will receive a rebate for everyone on the commitment form, even if processing takes an extra day or two.
Reminder: the Girl Scout membership year is October 1–September 30 and must be renewed annually. Annual membership dues are $45 for girls and $30 for adults. Visit girlscouts.org/Benefits to learn more.

Last Chance to Nominate a Volunteer for a GSSI Award!
|
GSSI deeply appreciates the time and energy that our volunteers dedicate to the Girl Scout movement. Our local volunteer awards were created to formally recognize the exceptional contributions of volunteers within GSSI’s jurisdiction.
A special thank you to GSSI's Volunteer Appreciation Committee for introducing a NEW award category for 2025 – the Northern Star Award! This award honors outstanding volunteers who have served in two or more roles (e.g., Troop Co-Leader and Service Unit Treasurer), highlighting their versatility and dedication.
Nominations are due by April 1 for presentation at GSSI's Annual Meeting. Descriptions and requirements for each award category are available online, along with the submission form, HERE.

Upcoming Service Unit Meetings
|
Service units (SUs) consist of Girl Scout members who live in the same city or county. SUs provide opportunities for volunteers to connect, share experiences, and build camaraderie through their shared commitment to the Girl Scout mission. Regardless of volunteer role, all volunteers are invited to attend SU meetings in their area! Learn more at About Girl Scout Service Units.

New Simplified Process for Submitting Finance Reports
|
GSSI has streamlined the Troop/Group Finance Report to make financial documentation easier for our volunteers! The new process allows you to submit your information online through a direct link, replacing the previous paper forms. In place of a detailed transaction register, you will now provide an overview of how your funds were used during the membership year.
Please upload the following documents to the online Finance Report form: •Monthly bank statements from the past 12 months; troops/groups with accounts at German American Bank may skip this step •Receipts for purchases of $200 or more •Receipts for reimbursement transactions
Finance Report Deadlines: •Troops: May 31 •Day Camps: July 31 •Service Units: August 31
We hope this updated financial process enhances your volunteer experience! If you have any questions regarding Finance Reports, please contact support@girlscouts-gssi.org.

View the Recording of the Rallyhood Training!
|
We’re excited to announce our new collaboration platform, Rallyhood! This all-in-one tool will help our GSSI community—volunteers, families, and members—work more efficiently and stay connected. With over 12 years of experience working with Girl Scout councils, Rallyhood eliminates the need for multiple apps and brings everything together in one place in an easy-to-use application. You’ll soon have access to features like direct and group messaging, shared calendars, file sharing, event planning, and payment collection, all through a private desktop and mobile app.
Troop Leaders: If you could not make the previously held Rallyhood Admin Training sessions, you can access recorded training and other guides and videos in the links section of the Welcome Volunteers Rally.
