Smart Cookies and Digital Cookie
|
We are aware of a delay in online orders reflecting accurately. GSUSA and ABC Bakers are deploying a fix to process orders at twice the rate they are processing currently. As we shared in a previous email. we were informed of an error regarding the gluten-free cookie and Initial Ordering. We are asking you to please advise caregivers not to enter any packages for gluten-free cookies in their order entry. Although the gluten-free cookie may appear in the “inventory” column of the Smart Cookies Initial Order for troop cookie managers, they should refrain from entering any packages into this field, as it may lead to order submission errors. If gluten-free packages are mistakenly entered, ABC will remove them on their side and this could potentially affect girl rewards. Gluten-free cookies that were pre-ordered in October 2023 will be honored at the troop level.
As a reminder, Girl Scouts can post their cookie links online with the exception of resale pages, including but not limited to Facebook Marketplace, eBay, NextDoor for Sale, and Craigslist. For additional clarity, links cannot be posted on pages where selling is the primary focus.

Initial Orders
|
Earlier this week, there was an error with Smart Cookies reflecting inflated package counts in the Initial Order. GSHCC worked closely with ABC Bakers and GSUSA and as of today, this issue has been resolved. If a cookie manager manually populated the Inventory Column with desired extras, those will remain. Once a parent submits their Initial Order in Digital Cookie, those new totals will reflect in Smart Cookies. Parent Order entry will not be final if the caregiver does not click the submit button. Please review our Tip Sheet for information on Parent Order Entry.
Before you submit their Initial Order, here are some helpful steps to follow:

Once the parent submits their Initial Order, updated totals will populate in Smart Cookies.

Verify order totals by viewing the “Parental Initial Orders” report in Digital Cookie and ensuring totals match in your Smart Cookies Troop Initial Order.

Communicate with families to verify their order is correct in Smart Cookies. If it is not correct, you can edit their order.

If the order is correct after verifying, then submit the Initial Order.

Cookie Drops
|
Troops attending Mega Drop are encouraged to bring one passenger as a designated “loader” if their order exceeds 200 cases. Troops will schedule their appointment times for Mega Drop. Troops with an Initial Order over 600 cases will have the option of receiving a home delivery. GSHCC will contact troops directly. GSHCC is unable to provide an appointment date and time as routes are created by our delivery agents once they have final numbers of troops choosing a home delivery. Delivery appointments may be made after the troops’ scheduled Cookie Drop.
We are still in need of volunteers. Register to volunteer at the event. Volunteers will welcome troops to this cookie "drive-thru" and send them on their way to a successful cookie season. Event volunteers must be adults 18 years old or older. If you are in a service unit that hosts a Mini Drop, remember to work with your service unit cookie manager for more event information.

Mega Drop Cupboard
|
Did you realize you need more inventory after you placed your Initial Order? Troops attending Mega Drop have the ability to place a Planned Order for the Mega Drop Cupboard. These cookies will be shown on the “Dot Sheet” combined with the troop’s Initial Order. Orders must be submitted by Sunday, February 4.

Financials
|
An ACH pre-authorization will be processed on February 1. Troops who do not have a cleared pre-authorization will be contacted by GSHCC and will not be able to pick up cookies until it has been resolved. Submit an ACH Authorization Form if you need to submit banking information.
