Wrapping Up 2023...
While another year is winding down, you can bet Girl Scouts are gearing up for the coming year. With cookie season, more badges to earn, more trips to take, summer camp, and perhaps bridging to a new Girl Scout level all on the horizon, Girl Scouts are looking forward to 2024!

Goodbye & Hello
Elizabeth Kramer
Alicia Price
Elizabeth Kramer, our Chief Development Officer, will be retiring from Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians at the end of 2023. Elizabeth has been with GSCSA for seven years. For her retirement, she is planning to travel, connect with family and friends, and pursue hobbies and interests that she’s put on the back burner for several years. Elizabeth will be greatly missed, and we thank her for all she’s done over the years to further the Girl Scout mission!

Alicia Price joined the Philanthropy team at GSCSA back in October. She will be taking over Elizabeth’s position as Chief Development Officer.

Alicia says of joining GSCSA: “I am thrilled to be part of the Girls Scouts mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character. GSCSA as an organization combines two of my most salient values: leadership and empowering women and girls in communities. The opportunity to play a small role in the development of girls across the Southern Appalachian region is both humbling and incredibly rewarding.”

Coming in 2024: The Great Cookie Competition
The Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians is excited to launch a new campaign called The Great Cookie Competition. Individuals representing each Girl Scout Cookie, known as Cookie Competitors, will be earning votes by raising dollars. The Cookie Competitor to earn the most votes (i.e. raise the most money), will be crowned their region’s Favorite Cookie!

The Great Cookie Competition will run from February to March. The competition will wrap with a culminating event in each of our council's three regions called The Great Cookie Tasting.

We’ll share more details as the time approaches, so keep an eye on your inbox and on our social media channels!
2023: A Year in Review
Trefoil Society Luncheons Round-Up
Members of the Trefoil Society commit to support Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians through generous annual financial support. Each year, Trefoil Society Luncheons are held in each of our Council's regions to honor a woman who exemplifies the spirit of Girl Scouting.

This year our Trefoil Society Luncheons raised over $65,000 across all three regions for Girl Scout programming! Our honorees were: Dr. Brenda White (Appalachian Highlands Region), Jenny Bushkell (East Tennessee Region), and Linda Moss Mines (Tennessee Valley & North Georgia Region).

We look forward to seeing you at next year's Trefoil Society Luncheons!

Gracie: An "Out of This World" Girl Scout
Join us in celebrating Gracie Ogle of Knoxville, who is the only Girl Scout in Tennessee to win the “Girl Scouts to the Moon and Back” contest for which she had to write an essay and build a miniature Mars rover. Part of her prize was receiving a very special Space Science badge that had been to space on NASA’s Artemis I!
